What a Fabulous Year for the OKC Ski Club!

2024–2025 ski and snowboard season will go down in history as one of the best yet! We kicked things off with our annual sign-up party in August at Will Rogers Gardens, where an enthusiastic crowd gathered, eager to hit the slopes. Our trip list was packed with incredible destinations—some of the best snow sports areas in the world—shared with some of the best people around.

This season also marked a milestone: the OKC Ski Club’s 70th anniversary! We celebrated with a big bash at our first meeting in October. It was heartwarming to see so many past members return to help commemorate this special occasion and set the tone for an unforgettable winter.

After enjoying our traditional Chili Cook-Off and a surprise visit from Dirty Santa, it was finally time to hit the slopes. Our first trip of the season was to the powdery slopes of Keystone in December, followed by an MLK Weekend adventure to Wolf Creek. There, we enjoyed fantastic conditions for skiing and snowboarding—plus a relaxing visit to the hot springs in Pagosa Springs.

Next up was Telluride, where we joined the Flatlands Ski Association for our annual rendezvous and a fun-filled foray into ski and snowshoe racing. Our team made an admirable showing, trudging through the snowy course with spirit and laughter. Shortly after Telluride, we headed to Taos Ski Valley for three spectacular days of skiing, wrapped in stunning views and flavorful New Mexican cuisine over Presidents’ Day weekend.

March brought the trip of a lifetime: Japan! A large group of club members traveled across the globe for an unforgettable experience—days spent on the slopes and nights immersed in Japanese culture, exploring breathtaking sites and making memories that will last forever.

We wrapped up the season with a spring skiing trip to Breckenridge, featuring some of the best snow and most convenient, luxurious lodging of the year—all set in one of North America’s most iconic ski towns.
