Oh Telluride, sweet Telluride—here we go again! On January 25, 2025, 43 OKC Ski Club members made their way to the stunning San Juan Mountains for the annual Flatlands Ski Association (FSA) race week.
While most flew in, a few adventurous souls opted for the scenic drive and met us there. We kicked things off in style with a welcome party at Mountain Lodge, Condo #8, where members picked up activity passes, t-shirts, and lift tickets while enjoying pizza, appetizers, and drinks. It was a warm mix of familiar faces and new friends.
🎿 Racing, Riding & Connections
Sunday was a laid-back open ski day, with some members attending the FSA Welcome Après Ski, while others relaxed or explored the slopes.
On Monday, things heated up with the Open Race and Men’s Challenge Race. The course was a little icy, but our skiers held their own — and many brought home medals! That night, we joined the Tulsa Ski Club for a Meet and Greet that turned into a fantastic evening of connection.
Tuesday was stacked with events, including:
- Women’s Challenge Race
- Men’s Alternate Race
- Snowboard Race
- Team Snowshoe Relay
Our club crushed it across the board and brought home even more hard-earned hardware.
Wednesday gave us another free ski day before the big evening — the FSA Awards Banquet. Some data hiccups delayed the start, but once things got rolling, the food, open bar, and energy made it worth the wait. Special shoutout to Bill Orland, whose legendary hot pink disco shirt earned him the unofficial title of “Dancing King” once again.
Thursday and Friday closed out the week with fresh powder and bluebird skies, making for a perfect ending to a truly epic mountain experience.
