COPPER MOUNTAIN 2024, 4/2 – 4/6
The best a spring trip could be! Great conditions, great snow and decent weather.
Sixteen OKC Ski Club members converged on Copper Mountain by land and air. 14 by air from OKC, one by air from Dallas and one drive up from Denver. Transportation both ways by Air and Charter bus to and from Denver to Copper went off without a hitch and all departures and arrivals were on time. Condos were excellent and they were in the square, looking out at the American Eagle lift. Only draw back being that it was about 30 yards from the bus drop off and pickup to condos which was a little tough for our 80+ participants (including myself) to haul their stuff back and forth. Not to fear though, all the youngsters pitched in and helped everyone haul gear (and groceries).
Snow conditions were great when we arrived and it snowed 4”+ after arrival which made for even better conditions and great powder days. Most of us skied in smaller groups, but a bunch of us together, although some hesitant, braved the Storm King T-bar lift and skied Enchanted Forest (black). Several first timers for the t-bar, but all did fine, and some did it multiple times.
None of us were smart enough to figure out the clue, so no one won the Challenge Cup. Shelli Barnett, did win the ski club sticker photo contest.

Conditions the past two ski days in Copper have not sucked at all. Sunshine until 7pm, snow pack in great shape, and a great group of friends having a screaming good time. Suns out guns out!💪

Overnight accumulation with more from today. Slight amount expected overnight and then we have some glorious sunshine for Wednesday -Friday.
Airport in the morning. Are you packed? Did you pack that Ikon pass? Might need a tank top, some sun screen, and definately some sunglasses. Great end of season conditions await us!
